Alex O’Connell

Alex O'Connell is a Melbourne-based designer and the founder of AO Innovations, a studio creating furniture, lighting and other products. O'Connell studied furniture design at RMIT University. What started as a hobby grew into a small design business that pairs modern manufacturing technology, such as CNC and laser cutting, with careful craftsmanship. Early projects included the Troika stool in reclaimed Australian hardwood and the Cross-iT shelving system, selected for the 2012 VIVID design competition.
