Jean-Marie Massaud

Jean-Marie Massaud is a French architect and designer born in Toulouse in 1966. He graduated from ENSCI-Les Ateliers in Paris in 1990 and co-founded Studio Massaud with Daniel Pouzet in 2000. His work ranges from architecture to objects and from one-off projects to industrial series, for brands including Axor, Cassina, Christofle, Poliform and Poltrona Frau. He seeks to reconcile pleasure with responsibility, balancing well-being, industrial efficiency and environmental concern, and won the Compasso d'Oro in 2011 for the Yale sofa.
