Álvaro Catalán de Ocón

Álvaro Catalán de Ocón is a Madrid-based designer who studied industrial design at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan and graduated from Central Saint Martins in London. He founded his studio in Barcelona in 2004 and moved it to Madrid in 2009. His approach favours honest processes and materials, often made with local craftspeople. He is best known for PET Lamp, which grew into ACdO, his platform for self-produced design. In 2023 he received Spain's National Design Award, and his work is held by the Centre Pompidou and M+.
